Hi all, I am currently in the infectious diseases ward at the Newcastle upon Tyne RVI. I've got a blood clot on my lung. Still feeling pretty bad waiting for treatment to start.

Although obviously not good having a clot, at least you know why you felt so bad! Hope they get it sorted today and you can start to recover.

I had PE"s and a DVT back in 2014 and it's not a problem now. I hope you get Riveroxaban as like me life is normal, no diet, no after effects, and no stockings best of all no blood tests. It's a game changing medication. So try not to worry and it's a medication that's clever as little interactions with other medications. The stomach jabs aren't good but not for long. Have you had a VQ scan or MRI and doesn't the arterial blood gas hurt ? xxx So you'll feel a lot better soon, take it easy and best of luck. If your being treated for Covid then even more take it easy and hopefully the medications will be given shortly and soon you'll be dancing around that bed. xxx

I am amazed they haven’t jabbed you in the stomach immediately with clexane and out you on anticoagulants immediately. I had one last year at the height of the pandemic and that is what they did for me. At least they kept you in which is more than they did for me. I just got called daily! I wish you luck and a speedy recovery.

So are you still in the hospital or are you safely back at home? Hope you are feeling better today 🌺

Hi, Green230461. I'm still in waiting for more CT scans of my pelvis and lower stomach. Then I'll have had my whole body CT scanned. Because these blood enzymes are so high, they are saying it could be cancer and then again not. During the waiting time I've also gotten a rash over my complete body. Feeling a little better all round. So many questions need to be answered

Green230461 profile image
Green230461

Hi there!Did they find out about your pelvis? I got a rash in hospital when I had a shoulder replacement! Would you believe I was allergic to the washing powder on the sheets? You could not make it up.

Hope you are doing okay. Keep strong in there. 🌺

geordienemisis profile image

Sort of had remaining CT scans said they couldn't see any more clots but blood enzyme count was still off the chart. As I was feeling better they let me go home. I'm still taking increased doses of blood thinners to dissolve lots need regular scans to check progress. Rash was due to the body wash I was using at the time. Some new rubbish. So now I'm having a massive flare up due to having stopped taking RA meds but I'm home at least. Cheers for the interest. 😀🍺
