I've been on 15mg MTX weekly for three years . My scalp and forehead is spotty, greasy and increasingly sore. Doctors have not been able to treat it. Any suggestions please?

Have you talked to a nutritionist? As different things in your diet might help?

Thanks, Helix - my wife is an angel in the kitchen and we eat all the right stuff.

I have rosacea and it sounds like that. It's worse when I'm on a higher dose of steroids, after exposure to sun or heat. I use azelaic acid gel which keeps it under control most of the time.

Hi Whitegate, sorry to hear that. Wondering if your dose of MTX is too high. As far as I've established over the years, it seems 10mg/week is the 'maintenance' dose (but perhaps you are having RA symptoms, or psoriasis?). Sorry can't help otherwise, good luck x

p.s. I meant 10mg as maintenance dose, if you don't have active flare-ups.
