Has anyone had a a delayed allergic reaction to MTX?

I developed a toxic contraindication after about 5 years of taking it, and its affected my lungs (fibrosis), as well as caused some other very strange symptons thats affected my eyes, and some other organs. The docs have confirmed that I am allergic to it - but are less sure about the other ailments which all miraculously stabilsed within 3 months of my stopping MTX.

I am obviously an outlier where the allergies are concerned - so I would be vigilant if I were you.

Oh that’s such bad luck. My problems withMTX happened after only 5 weeks and I got pneumonitis.I hope your Rheumy switches you to a different RA drug that will work well for you.

I had problems with methotrexate, my legs swelled so I could hardly walk but I was just unlucky. I'm sure it works for most people.

Just for the record, I wasnt taking it for RA - its for another Autoimmune ailment (Scleroderma). I was also on Paconil - which was stopped when I first had an unexplainable problem with my eyes.

Thankfull I'm off all meds and I feel much better.
