It’s seems life is against me these days. I still haven’t had my wisdom teeth out and it’s been two years now. And now I’ve learned I have a condition called TMJ which affects your jaw. There’s a possibility I’ll need surgery for that as well but I hope that it doesn’t come to that.

My dads insurance plan is pretty crappy since our old one expired and his new job didn’t spring for a good plan, they didn’t even offer one that covers you’re family too my dad had to add and pay for us separate. Seeing as both surgery’s are dental I decided to go out and get my own dental plan until I get all the stuff done and dealt with. I think I found a pretty good deal myself so hopefully it covers enough that I can afford both surgery’s with my almost minimum wage job.

I don’t remember if I told you guys but I finally moved out! I am living with my best friend and her family sleeping mom her bedroom floor until I can find an apartment I can afford (so far not going well). My mom and aunt wanted me to move to minnesota last month to get a job at my aunts work that pays 18 an hour plus benefits but I couldn’t see the logics in moving to a different state for a job I might not even get without knowing that I have it already. So I ended up making a deal that if the jobs still open by august and I can’t afford an apartment I’d move.

My pain levels have been increased the last few weeks and I have no idea why. I have been working for over four months now and haven’t been in this much pain until now. I don’t know if all the work is just now hitting me or if it’s the rollercoaster of weather we’ve been having.

On my moms news tho she’s getting ready to have her hips replaced hopefully soon if the insurance would stop being a jerk. They also discovered masses on her spine and hips that she’s getting mris for and probably biopsy’s if they still can’t figure out what they are. She’s in remission for the kidney failure though which is why I felt comfortable enough to use my taxes to get out of there. After learning about the masses tho I find myself wishing I’d waited a few more months just to be on the safe side. But I do know that moving was what was best for me and I haven’t been this happy in years. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing about anything now.

I want to know how everyone else is doing. I don’t come in here as often as I would like to check on everyone!

Glad you’re happy! That’s nice of your best friend and her family to let you stay with them. Sorry about your insurance issues. The US healthcare just stinks!! I had to pay out of pocket to see Rheumy (waiting for diagnosis). Hope you get those wisdom teeth out soon once your dental insurance kicks in.

I’m not sure what state you’re in. I’m in WI and our minimum wage is super low, only $7.25. You could look at something like Target or Best Buy. In my state, they start at $15/hr with benefits. Not high but way better than minimum wage. You could also contact your local Job Center to see if you qualify for free WIOA training. Best of luck!

I work at Arby’s in Wyoming I’m paid 10.75 luckily since minimum wage is also 7.25 here. But I also never get more then 30 hours a week and they won’t increase my hours for me. My mom had to pay 600 for her first mri today cause insurance is refusing to cover hardly anything. And right now I’m sitting in my pharmacy waiting for them to figure out my insurance cause they’re claiming my bday is wrong AGAIN. So fun fun times

What a mess with the insurance stuff! Hope it gets figured out. At least you’re making more than minimum and you live in a beautiful state. Hang in there!

I can imagine how tough it is and wirh working less than full-time. While your income is too high for Medicaid, look into the WIOA training I noted above. I used to work in Employment & Training, and your income should qualify for it. There are many free training programs available to help you get skills for good job.

You could also check with Salvation Army or Red Cross because they may have services that can help you.

Do you need a high school diploma or equivalent to do that? I have neither

They can help you with that. Depending on your age, there’s a youth WIOA program (goes to age 30 in my state) and an adult program. It’s a federally run program.

You’re welcome. Also call 211, it’s the National helpline and they can give you a list of resources, like food pantries in your area. Below is a link explaining what WIOA is…
