I was diagnosed with Seropositive RA 2 years ago Since March last year I’ve been on Benepali (injection) and Hydroxychloroquine. So far (touch wood and fingers crossed) my disease is pretty much in remission.

My curiosity is, do you continue to get flares that are masked by the medication??? My reason for asking is that sometimes I wake in the morning with a sore elbow or shoulder or my hands ache and a a little bit stiff, sometimes I’m very tired.

I go about my daily life as if everything is normal and don’t really think about it but I’m just curious as it was a question I was asked and I’ve also thought of it too.

Hope you’re all managing ok out there xxx

I was similar, then the RA took over again. In the end i couldn't take the pain and fatigue.I was taking oral MTX and folic acid.

Since that period i moved over to the metroject pen and i feel great. No pains or fatigue, i get a little stiffness in my right wrist now and again but am a joiner and back working so thats probably why, i just take a Naproxon and that sorts it out, other than that am good.

Last couple of months i started building my running miles back up and am running 300km a month again. I've even managed a couple of 100km weeks which is where i was before RA showed its face.

Try Naproxon if you feel a little stiff or sore. Really works for me.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I am always tired and every day it seems there is some small niggle - perhaps a swollen left arm, a sore wrist, a throbbing ankle but never enough to bother Rheumatology team with and, as I'm generally well I just put up with it!!

Hi Longlocks - good question. Our stories sound similar. I still have a very sore hand, not swollen, just tender and painful - it gets worse when I exercise with it. So I guess my RA is still active but reluctant to take any more meds as unable to swallow pills, so live with it. I have my weekly injection.

I am seeing my rheumy assistant tomorrow, who probably will insist I take another med. Otherwise, I am OK with where I am at compared to where I was two years ago. It is what it is with this RA. I shall continue to do my utmost without stressing- Have a good week. Hessie ☺️

To be honest I'm not sure, yes my right hand can look puffy but it isn't painful. I take AZA and Benepali and don't really worry about it but do know if I get an infection and RA meds stop then remission goes and it flares up quite a lot. That happened last year for several weeks and I was surprised how bad I felt as in normal times the RA is just a couple of pills a day and a jab once a week.
