Is it normal to still get flare ups on meds? I'm currently on benepali and have only been on it 6 months, my hands are no way near as bad as they were but still pain when I'm using a computer or doing things such as fiddly buttons etc or driving holding the steering wheel makes my fingers tighten up, and can set it off. Is this normal on meds? Or should it be like I haven't even got RA once on meds it's all quite new to me so sorry for all the questions.

I think you should contact either your gp or your rheumy nurse. You can still get flare ups. Hugs.xxxx

Yes you can still get flare ups but they should be infrequent or short lived. From what you report it would seem your medication might need adjustment. As Sylvi says do contact your Rheumy nurse or patient helpline and let them know what you are experiencing.

Flares should be infrequent but if have continued pain or swelling even if you feel in general it’s has been improved it could be your meds aren’t quite right . This happened to me and they changed my medication and I m doing good x

It does mean that the disease process is not properly under control. Keep a record including photos of any swollen joints. And tell your rheumy team.
