Week 10 Tocilizumab and all is well...

This biologic medication is doing a great job for me. I get only the mildest of side effects and my RA seems to try to shout at me from time to time. That is to say, I occasionally wake with stiffness in ankles, but it goes pretty quickly, my wrists and hands sometimes seem to feel as though they may go into a flare but then it abates and I get bouts of fatigue but again, they don't last long and I've usually been overdoing it (so it may just be age). Also the day before my next injection is due the aforementioned is most noticeable.

My rib injury is healing too.

Now, if I can refrain from falling or any further accidents... I can get on with life!

Ah, but I live on the Moray coast and we have an outbreak here, so I am pretty much doing the same as I have been for the past year. I hope that the infection rate is soon brought under control as I hate that kids and young folk are getting Covid. Anyway, fingers crossed.

Happy Sunday everyone. Go gently through the days and nights....

It's great to hear from someone who is having success with a treatment. So often we only write here when we are having problems and it does give a feeling that nothing ever works!

Hi, I hope it is as good for him as it was for me. It is difficult to know for sure because I had a steroid jab, which was still giving some relief when I started Tocilizumab. My RA has been pretty much under control from the outset, but as I say it was aided by steroids to start with.I have not needed pain relief or anti-inflammatory meds since I started 10 weeks ago. It has been a life changer.

Fingers crossed for your OH.

I was on it for over 7years and it was the best of any others that i had been on and i have tried a lot but it stopped working so it was stopped.Hope it works well for you.

Hi Beeckey, thank you.I’ve been on a few myself. It’s a real nuisance that our bodies eventually seem to overcome the medication and the RA gremlins win through, it’s happened to me a few times. I’m just taking the good times while I can.

Go gently
