I managed to book a swimming session today in my local pool - wish me luck! I hadn't long learned to swim before the Covid pandemic kicked in...I may have forgotten what to put where and when to put it there - coordination was never my strong point!π€£Plus my feet, shoulders and hands ate soooo sore...and....I don't think I'll fit into my swimming costume! π It's all going swimmingly π

Oh enjoy . Donβt worry about the swimming just get use to the water. Try floating get the feel of the water even if you hold on to the side it will kick start your muscle memory.. canβt help with the swimming costume but everyone will be in the same position.. x
Hope it goes OK! I can't manage a length these days and I would really like aquafit to start again, but the last time there was a session was in March 2020.
Good luck with your swimming session, even if you just hang on to the side and float around sure you will enjoy it, Ok so swimming costume may be a bit tight who cares and come to that who will see once you are in the water, just go and enjoy yourself. xx
Well...I survived! The water was a little on the chilly side, and I'm sure I was going backwards more than forwards... but I didn't drown- which is always a bonus! π€£
Yay! Were there many people there?I'm really looking forward to AquaFit but may leave swimming until that starts up although I've no idea when that will be π€
I'm starting some f2f lessons at one of the universities I teach at next week (individual lessons for 6 students) so might wait until that finishes at the end of May before I venture back to the pool.
There were no more than 4 to a lane - you have to book in advance. One lady was actually doing her aquafit exercises up and down the lane in the shallow end! I must have say, it was much warmer in the deep end.
I'm just off in a minute. Same here - we have to book in advance and only 20 people allowed in at once. They sanitise the changing room in between sessions and are generally on top of everything - I've been super impressed with them throughout the pandemic. And for me, swimming is like medicine. I find it one of the best things for my pain and general wellbeing. Pool is always a bit chilly after a long break though...bracing myself
I am lucky to have an aquatic center here in my small town in the US! Getting in the water is so therapeutic! In fact I am going this morning. It will not involve anything heroic like swimming laps. Just some gentle stretching. It also has the psychological effect of making you feel normal again.
