Leg Muscle Aches after not taking MTX

I was diagnosed with some form of RA about 4 years ago, they were not sure what form I had but because there is a history of psoriasis in my family it could be the psoriatic type. I was put on MTX which appears to have been fairly successful. I was so scared of catching Covid that I stopped the MTX for 8 weeks myself (probably stupidly). The arthritis was ok during this time but after the 8 weeks I got psoriasis all over my body. I told my GP who prescribed a steroid cream and told me that I should restart the MTX injections which I have done (4 weeks ago). Thankfully the psoriasis has cleared up but I am now suffering from muscle aches in my legs where I can't seem to walk more than 200 yards before I have to stop. After a few minutes I can resume. Even just standing for a little while makes my legs ache. Before this I could walk about half a mile before I had to stop. I am also getting a general feeling of malaise at times. I had my Covid vaccination 6 weeks ago (with no reaction). I am just wondering does anyone else get muscle aches whilst walking with PsA because I am really worried about it.

Morning. I don’t know the ins and outs of your condition, but I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I can’t move at all if I miss any meds. I would wait for the Mx to ‘kick back in’ again. Hopefully your walking will improve when the drugs start doing their job. Take care. hopefully this is just short term x

The malaise is ‘probably’ your body adjusting to Mx again. But obviously wait to see if this pans out. If it continues for more than another couple of months I would seek medical advice xx

Hi, I have psoriasis mainly hands and feet and my legs ache frequently even just resting. I have told the nurse as I inject MTX but she said it is one of the side affects, not nice feeling though. Maybe mention it to your GP. I was told to keep an eye on it! Sorry not a particularly helpful post but thought I would mention my muscle aches. x☺
