Restarting Mtx after Covid

My adult son, who has psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis is just recovering from Covid, one week in. He is still fatigued and a bit breathless. He normally takes Mtx 20mg and has underlying health issues, having an enlarged heart due to heart failure as a child. Does anyone on here. who has had Covid. know how soon it can be started again? His psoriasis is starting to get much worse already, which seems unbeliebable since one would have thought that with his body fighting Covid it would have left the skin and joints alone for a bit. NB. He had to delay his fourth vaccine and had to stop the Mtx a few weeks ago because of an unpleasant chest infection. I'd appreciate any answers. Thank you, Knip.

Your son really must contact his doctors…..his situation does not seem straightforward and he does need some professional medical advice.

Thank you AC that reinforces what I already feel. I will pass your reply on to him, and perhaps to his wife as well...she will probably have more luck at persuading him to get medical advice. The old adage 'you can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink' applies! He's a very kind chap and always the first to act on behalf of others, but oh so slow to take action for himself. I appreciate your response ; it's a little more power to my elbow! Take care, kx

I find scaring the u no wot out of men usually gets them heading to the doc!A good old fashioned lie works wonders!🤭🤭🤭

You aren't wrong their AC. His wife will have more success than I will these days! Her sister is a longstanding RA nurse in a London Hospital so she might get her to have a chat with him if he won't listen to her. Men, eh! 🤷‍♀️

I would also encourage him to consult his rheumatalogy team as soon as possible (nag if necessary, the drip technique works best with my adult son). It is a fine balance between supressing your response to Covid and suppressing the immune response to psoriasis.

Thank you, I will forward your message as I have done with Aged Crone's. You have both given good advice. Take care,
