Is anyone having problems getting sulfasalazine? Boots is out of stock and had to wait a week last month. Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

So it seems it's widespread for Boots, the pharmacist said they were having problems getting a supply

Must be bad then because l had to change my pharmacy last year from Lloyds at Sainsbury’s as they were unable to get my verapamil. Boots have their own warehouse and were able to source them. Since January having to wait for both verapamil and sulfasalazine, even having to get lower strength verapamil, so doubling my tablets from 2 a day to 4 a day. I have bronchiectasis and rheumatoid arthritis. I receive a Biologic from the hospital and that seems to be available thank goodness, as my RA is really well controlled for almost 2 years since taking the Biologic and sulfasalazine. Just hope supply of medicines improves soon.

I haven't had my usual brand for 4 months now, I'm in Staffordshire.

It’s on and off, I use an online pharmacy. Heads up with RA we should apparently be taking Gastro-resistant sulfasalazine

So far mine have always been gastro resistant so hope that will be possible.

I've always had issues with getting it through my local boots. I have a really good pharmacy within a minutes walk of my house so everything usually goes through there, but tried boots throughout lockdown as we were collecting for the mil too and that's where hers are sent.

Must say though I never got more than 2-3 scripts without the brand changing.

The one time there was a supply issue with my local pharmacy, they gave what they had (just under half) and then called around for me and let me know exactly where had stock.

Wishing you luck with it, seems to be a widespread issue.

Received mine recently (through the hospital pharmacy) with no problems.

Yes I had a problem this time. Boots said their supplier was having difficulty getting stock and had to order from another supplier. Fortunately I had enough to see me through the wait. About 5 days in my case.
