Sulfasalazine: Hi, just got back from my appointment... - NRAS
Sulfasalazine
I am on both, and hydroxychloroquine too. When I first started sulpha about 6 years ago now it gave me a very excitable stomach. To the extent that I wouldn't eat or drink anything away from my house as the effect was rather rapid and often somewhat explosive. However it slowly wore off and after a few months I was fine. Most importantly the drug worked. But don't be surprised by orange pee - apparently doesn't happen with everyone but it did to me.
I am on sulfa & mtx and I've had no problems with the sulfa. Some people have side effects with sulfa and if you do just notify your doctor.
To tell you the truth, I keep mints in my purse as I've been told by my hubby that sometimes my breath smells like sulfer.
Thank you, i will take mints with me as well😛
I'm on sulpha/MTX combo and it's working well with minimal side effects. Good luck
Thank you that's good to hear.
I am on both and Hydroxychloroquine and I found it reduced the amount of pain and stiffness in my feet. and it does seem to work quite well with very little in the way of side effects.
Do you know how long it took to start working?
As I recall it was quite rapid certainly within a couple of weeks which surprised me as I was expecting to wait a few weeks for any result.
I am on Sulfazalazine mtx hydrochloroquine with no ill effects
