Been on Rituxan Infusions for 5+ years. Two years ago, went to dentist and suddenly had 4 cavities. Never had so many cavities in my life. Also teeth are sensitive to any kind of toothpaste, especially whitening toothpastes. The only one I have found works so far is Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Protection. Could dental issues be related to Rituxan infusions?

Teeth Sensitivity Related to Rituxan?
In my own experience I think yes but I’m no expert of course. I’m on Rtx since early 2014 but couldn’t tell for sure if was simply wear and tear on half a dozen old fillings needing more attention and replacement, or Rtx. Also my teeth seemed to need a lot of work the year after I took Pred for ten months. My dentist recommended Durophat 5000 toothpaste to protect my teeth more.
Thank you for sharing your experience and what toothpaste your dentist recommended!
You’re welcome. It’s quite a powerful acting one and expensive at £12-15 depending on where you can find it online if you can’t get to the dentist, but he recommended me using that once a day as I said I liked another whitening one too. It’s very economical and lasts a long time as you don’t need a big squidge of it. There is also a reduced fluoride version for adults and children over 10 in case you think the one I spoke of is too much fluoride for what you want. This is approx half the price of the Duraphat 5000.
I have also wondered the same having been on rtx for 2 years and needed more fillings than previously. My dentist recommended this toothpaste.
Hello, I get on well with all the Sensodyn range of toothpaste , helps all my sensitivity. The more you use it the better it gets too
Thanks for the information. I have been on rituxomab for 6 months and have recently lost two of my old fillings. Dentist refused to see me because I am on immune suppressants. I use sensodyne tooth paste and have had no pains yet. I will try one of the recommendations. Thanks
