Rituxan and side effects
HelloIt would be best to contact your healthcare professional to check the side effects you are having. If you can't get through then perhaps call 111 to confirm. For more information you can always call our Information and Support Team at NRAS on 0800 298 7650 .

Thank you what is 111 ?
HelloIf you dial 111 it puts you through to an NHS telephone service. It is the number you can call when you need medical advice or treatment quickly and cannot wait for an appointment to see your doctor. (Emergencies are 999 for life threatening situations)
I’ve never had any side effects from a Rituximab infusion, other than wakefulness and a slight headache for a day or two afterwards and that is probably caused by the methylpredisnolone given before it.
I’m sorry you’re experiencing some pain so do contact your Rheumy team if your symptoms persist.
Where are you? Uk? Speak to your rheumatologist team urgently about any first time Rituximab or similar drugs.
I would guess what you are experiencing is not a side effect of Rtx….possibly just a winter tummy upset? I am presuming as you were so worried about starting Rtx you are over thinking it, & every little niggle is going to be thought to be a side effect?
The only slight side effect I have with Rtx is that I feel a bit more tired about 48 hrs after an infusion…but nothing worse…it’s a win win for me.
Try to forget Rtx & get on with your Christmas plans 🍸🎄🍾…unless you get a lot worse ….when you should of course give your doctor a call…give it a chance…..at least 8/12 weeks & look forward to feeling much better.
The people who do have nasty side effects on this drug, nearly all seem to have other underlying health problems that are reacting to it….do hope you feel better soon.
Hi Bella
I've had this and it does settle in a day or two.
Always best to check with the professionals though,.
Best wishes 🙂
