Cimzia : Hi guys, I suffer with rheumatoid arthritis I... - NRAS
Cimzia
Hi, I am on it and have been for a year. It’s very easy to inject but I would recommend getting it to room temp before doing it.I was suffering a lot before starting but it has given me a new lease of life. Minimal side effects but you will need to get your flu jab before starting it etc. The energy I felt is amazing
It won’t last forever... some people get a good five years etc. I am now in the process of changing biologics as I have just started getting flares again. And personally I don’t want to take steroids.
However it’s a great drug for the time I have used it
I was on it for 8 yrs worked really well for me 24 hrs after first injections. This last year I suffered with repeated chest infections more lack of GPs giving me the right drugs than the biologic.
Good luck , I've had lots of other biologics and they really help x
Hello, sorry to hear you are experiencing a lot of flaring at the moment. If you would like any guidance about Cimzia or would like to talk to someone about your concerns, the NRAS helpline is open daily between 9.30am - 4.30pm nras.org.uk/helpline/
Hi I have been on Cimzia and methotrexate for nearly 5 years and it has given me my life back. Everyone is different but if you get the chance try it. Hope all goes well for you. Regards
Thanks everyone I'm in the process trying to conceive too I hope it woudnt t affect it too, but I've being told it won't..
Hi I am still young and that’s why Cimzia was chosen for my first biologic, as I would like to have children. The better control you have over your RA the more chance you have of conceiving
I've been on it for nearly 7 years and it's no exaggeration to say it's given me my life back. I take it in combination with 10 mg methotrexate. I've been in remission all that time too. I've never had any problems with side effects or infections. I didn't know there was a pen. I only have the pre loaded syringes for injection.Good luck if you are put on it - I hope it will work for you too xx🐰
I'm on it alongside methotrexate. Has worked well on my spine, but not knees, ankles and wrists. Very easy to inject.
I have been on it for several years for crohnz and RA and it has helped me alot I would go for the pen it’s a lot easier than the injection
