Well done for posting your experience and I’m sure it will reassure many. It’s normal to be a little anxious before having any new drug but if the expected end result is so promising then a few side effects pale into insignificance. We know that from our RA treatment journey.

I'm wondering that , if this makes sense , the group being vaccinated now is those who could potentially got very sick severe disease and high mortality with covid . The surely giving us a low dose of it might trigger more symptoms of us reacting to it from the vaccines🤔Therefore what would we have been like getting a full dose of covid... like the scientists thought, extremely ill??

Time to stop overthinking ... x🙂

And ....😂😂lots of evidence now coming through that those who had covid infection do react more to the first vaccine as the body recognises it and sets up a more robust immune response, like we may have on our second jab xxx you like that one( although that's not just my ideas😂)

Hi Kate , I had my vaccine last week and apart from a slightly sore arm the next day I wouldn't have known I had it , so hopefully it will now do what its supposed to do x

I'm on TCZ and leflunomide and steroids, got the pfizer jab with only a tender arm xx

Same here, no side effects at all, not even a sore arm, took meds all as normal ( Baracitinib & Prednisolone) hubby just the same 🤗 X

I’ve been reading a lot of posts about people who have had their jab and wondering what other health problems people have (other than RA of course) that made them eligible for the COVID jab.

I have RA on mtx injection, also have Fibromyalgia, OA, I’m Astmatic but only affects me when I catch a cold or similar when I usually have to be hospitalised. My husband has lung problems so received the government’s letter telling him to shield at every lockdown but I didn’t, my gp said last year that I wasn’t classed as being vulnerable to COVID

There is a lot of inconsistency about our vulnerability and about which eligibility group we are in for vaccines.

The current charts say that being on either high dose steroids, or two immune-suppressing drugs with any serious comorbidity like heart disease, or a BMI of over 30, put you into the at risk shielding group. Which translates into group 6 for the vaccine. And of course age is an automatic thing that gets you straight to front of vaccine queue.

Many people have been wrongly classified by their doctors, both being included and by being excluded. If you think this applies to you them speak to your doctors.

Everyone is entitled to a CV19 vaccination...right now it does depend on your age.If you think you have been missed out call 119 & they will tell you when you can expect to be called. You & your husband will be assessed separately so don’t be disappointed if you get different dates...but don’t worry you will get vaccinated.

Sensible advice, AC.

Hi Kate2628Yes I had my jab Oxford one yesterday morning along with my OH. Have had no side effects so far but a sore arm. Like you I took paracetamol when I got back then again before o went to bed and again when I got up. I did stop my methotrexate as I have just had cellulitis so haven’t taken that now for 2 weeks but I kept up with my roactemra injection. Mt OH has had muscle pains but he is ok. So far all good. Keeping my fingers crossed. I’ve got RA Osteoarthritis, and Copd. Some positive news like yourself. Stay safe 🤗

I had the Oxford one on Tuesday and no side effects either which was great. Let's hope after the second jab were feeling the same.
