I think you should speak to a doctor, have you had investigations, X-rays etc?

I’ve had a X-ray about a month ago but didn’t have this problem then. See a doctor if n Saturday who prescribed the medication to me, the problem l have is the side effects, age being one , on blood pressure tablets, can’t get through to Rhemy nurses left messages last week and today

I was prescribed this last week also for a flare in my hip area. I’m also on medication for high blood pressure so my consultant just gave me a month’s supply. I haven’t had any side effects from it and it is helping with the pain.

I took it for 18 months, along with steroids. It’s licenced for AS, and lots of AS patients take it long term. I had to stop when I had a severe stroke at 52, which they think was due to an adrenal crisis, but they felt this med contributed to it. I didn’t have issues with blood pressure or cholesterol and didn’t have a family history of stroke. It does cause an increase in blood pressure in some patients, even young fit people.

Contact your rheumatologist and discuss it with them. I can understand your hesitancy. 🤗

I've been taking it on and off for six years. I find it works. Any pain killers you take are going to increase your risk of complications slightly but you can't be suffering in pain either. You will likely only need it for a short time and then stop it when your knee settles.

I take it occasionally. It works for about 25-30 hours for me. I only take it with food and only if I am really in need, but I find it very good.

Thank you everyone who replied to me, lm going to start it tomorrow, spoke to Rhemy nurses today, just hope new meds don’t take to long to be approved, lm not on anything at the moment! Thanks once again for your support, Kate x
