Hi Bubblyalex,

Have you been asked to stop meds before and after taking your Covid Vaccination? Just wanting to know whether to stop Methotrexate and Biologic before? Thanks

Yes but only by chance did that work. My jab was just shy of two weeks after my once every two weeks biologic jab and one week after my MXT dose. I have been told to skip these two this week doses as well. X

My daughter's Rheumy and GP has just instructed her to keep taking her Enbrel weekly and Methotrexate weekly whilst having the vacccination. She took her Enbrel injection last night, her Vaccination is this thursday afternoon and her Methotrexate tablets are due the same thursday in the evening. She is scared to carry on taking the meds????

Each of us is getting a lot of different info. The main thing is to listen to her rheumy as what they say is based on what’s right for her and her health. I don’t believe this is a one size fits all thing. Big hugs to her. It’s great that we have this vaccine and I’ve had mine. What I have been told is for me and my situation. 💕🍀

Thanks. The advice from 29th Jan has been taken from the Versus Arthritis website, therefore her Rheumy is not commenting but sent the VersusArthritis link to my daughter, the same info for all RA patients apart from the RA patients who are on infusions, I believe. The GP is saying the same.

That makes a lot of sense. I am about to start an infusion but have to wait till the 2nd dose and add 4 weeks. I suspect I have been told to skip doses because there is little danger of my doing that sending me into a flare up... after all so far the meds I am on haven’t done anything really.

She spoke to Versus Arthritis helpline, he advised do not come off of any meds whatever the condition, unless your Rheumy advises. He mentioned the infusions only, therefore one size fits all the other meds apart from infusions of course! GP saying the same too.

You should have been given a little credit card sized card with it telling you what you had. I was handed that by the doctor with my “I’ve had my covid vaccination’ sticker stuck onto the edge of it.

Good luck Freddiefan I get mine on Wednesday

Good luck. Take it from me - I am the ultimate injection phobe - you won’t feel it. I just couldn’t believe it.My husband and I both had it on Friday , neither of us felt a thing. He felt like he had flu yesterday and felt itchy but I haven’t felt a single thing. We had the Pfizer/BioNTech one.
