Hi all does anyone know if I should stop methotrexate 25mgs by injection weekly before the covid injection. And if so how long? Thanks.

Best check with your rheum team. Mynurse advised me that it helps the efficacy of the vaccine but at the time didn't say for how long
The jury is out on this. But if anything it would be after not before
The answer given in the Q & A session was that it was best to check with your own Rheumy team. One study had shown that stopping for two weeks after immunisation increased the immune response. However, if you are someone who rapidly has a flare on stopping that might be more of a risk. So there is no clear answer.
My Rheumatologist gave no definitive answer when asked but I will ask again in due course as advice may get updated. helixhelix's link is well worth a read.
I don’t think you need to but I suggest you check with you rheumatology team FB for their advice
👋I called today because I have booked my first vaccine this Saturday. My normal routine would be: Idacio this Saturday (I do that biweekly) Metoject 20mg every Monday and sulphasalazine 4 tablets a day. I was advised to miss the Idacio Saturday and do that the following Wednesday. Also to not do my Metoject Monday following the Covid vaccine and leave it until the following Monday. Moving forward, the Idacio would be on Wednesday.
