'Register if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food.
If you’re not sure whether your medical condition makes you extremely vulnerable, register anyway.
You can register yourself, or on behalf of someone else.'
Please don't worry it goes on to ask if you need help collecting food and medications so I registered as CKD, but advised then that need no help at present. I think it might be a good idea if it helps to id people, as around here no deliveries of anything by anybody for 3 weeks and if you like me are now under house arrest it might be vital especially in the present lock down. lol
Anyway it is worth thinking about although I'm not sure who qualifies anyway. Now going to work on my garden I can't do much but the sun is shining and it stops me dwelling on that which I cannot change.
Thanks Moomin, appreciated by me, had rheumatology phone consultation & confirmed 12 week lockdown whether I get letter or not (which I knew really).
No harm at all in registering I think especially as Medway lady says, there is option for whether help needed at present: at least they know potential numbers then too. Also I have other adult in house but if they became ill with it as they’re doing my shopping etc at mo, then I would need it, circumstances can change. Thank you again x
Thank you for your understanding Kerensa21. That's exactly what I did. At first I had it in my initial message, but it seemed to be causing some offence- which was so far from my intention x
I’m not sure why either?; online food shopping is impossible here at the moment too & feel guilty when others do it for me as they’re at risk too. Take care xx
I also wasn’t sure if to do it or not I have also not heard anything I’m undecided to contact Gp or my Rhemy nurse because I no they super busy. So I’m waiting patiently 🙂
Thank you so much! As others above have said, now I'm not sure whether I should register or not since as far as I am aware (ie. no letter yet), I don't fall into the most at risk category and I would hate to be taking priority over others who need it more... and yet, living alone and with (as yet) uncontrolled RA (I was only diagnosed a few months ago and drugs have yet to do their thing), not being able to order online is really quite an issue for me...
I'm currently only on Mtx so I've been assuming/hoping I won't get a text/letter but if what you say is true, I guess I may have to wait a little longer to know for sure...
