Ring finger just below knuckle: another weird symptom. I've noticed this before but not quite so prominent. It's cold now so my fingers are starting to go white as this one is but I am back home now and the weird purple 'dent' is still there. Anyone else get this?
what's this???: Ring finger just below knuckle... - NRAS
what's this???
Can you send that photo to your rhemy nurses ? Hopefully they can help x
No - they don't accept emails! Sorry and I really respect NHS etc but how bloody stupid. Email would be time efficient and more accurate when communicating symptoms rather than the ridiculous 2 day wait for someone to phone back when you're not in! I don't tell them anything any more. Just take the tablets and hope for the best. x 😄
Not from experience but that does look as though it could be the beginning of Raynaud's. Next time you speak to your Rheumy or nurse mention it, or even report it before if it starts to affect other fingers. It will be noticed when performing DAS on your hands if you're being examined but these days that's less likely.
Anything that helps circulation can be helpful, as can keeping your hands warm, wearing gloves outside etc. There are special ones designed for Raynaud's, it might be worth a look on Amazon for some. Oh, & keep an eye on your toes too.
Hi NMH (!) already have diagnosis of Ryanaud's. It's been getting really bad in recent years. Today was first day of white finger due to temperature drop and I already have one chillblain from the one cold day we had last week or week before (can't remember). I refused to take the Nifedipine that I was offered by rheum consultant. Mind you it was spring time so it wasn't that bad. I may be about to do a massive u-turn with since I had to scrape ice off the car this morning ☹
