Impossible to give a firm answer as your doctor will decide according to yiur circumstances and overall health. Average seems to be 2 weeks, but could be more or could be less...

Good to ask before you see your rheumy, at least to have some knowledge to talk to our rheumy if needed.

Good luck for your surgery!

I would recommend discussing this with rheumatologist rather than the surgeon as they know the drugs and you better than the surgeon does.

All I can say is, if you can get it done sooner rather than later, go for it. You never know if they're going to cancel all non emergency surgery and it's such a life changing OP. I had mine on on 15th October and I'm so pleased with it. Now just to try and get the RA u der control ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you for such a positive reply did you come off your rheumatology drugs before your surgery x

I just missed one week of mtx, I am waiting to start tocilizumab and had to delay that until after the OP.

Hi,I have had both knees replaced. Left one 3 years ago & right one in Feb this year.

Definitely ask your rheumatologist for advice.

I had to come off Etanercept for 4 weeks before first op but only had to come off Tofacitinib 2 weeks before 2nd op. I think its all to do with specific drugs & how long it takes for them to leave your system.

Best wishes for your op. I have no regrets getting mine done.

Mine was 2 weeks before surgery and then back on again, once the wounds and stitches had healed and nothing is left open! My knee did glare though and had to have it asperated and injected, but that's me! Good luck๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Yep, agree with HH.

I had a double knee replacement and was off all meds for 3 weeks before

And 3/4 weeks after surgery.

Best of luck with your op !

I was told to miss my monthly TCZ infusion prior to surgery and advice was given about statins and anticoagulant too. Yep question for your doc as you say x
