I started hydroxychloroquine about 6 weeks so, brand was Zentiva and I was on 2x 200mg . No effects other than 4th week into it I developed a slight rash so rhumy nurse suggested come off for few days and if rash disappears start back on 200mg only once a day. Champion I thought, rash went but then I had to ask for more tablets. The new brand given was Quinoric, my word, 12 days of taking it and I had terrible stomach cramps. Thankfully I had spotted a few posts on here about this brand. I stopped taking them since last Saturday but my bowel is playing up, loose Diarrhea , light brown (sorry all 🥺) and grumbling tummy. I guess my question is do you think the Quinoric will have done this or after 12 days of that tablet it should have left my system? I’ve had to increase my omeprazole to 20mg too. I’ve managed to get Zentiva but not taking it at mo to give my bowels and tummy a rest.Any thoughts much welcome, thanks all . 🤗

Hi there - I too went from Zentiva to Quinoric and got very panicky about shortages: most pharmacies in my area were reporting low stocks and being unable to get more. However I have had no problems with Quinoric at all. In fact I had a rash on the under sides of my arms while still taking Zentiva, but it dried up and hasn't come back so I was happy to carry on.
My only problem with hydroxyc. is that it doesn't seem to have done much for me! Tummy problems are a symptom of RD and I have had them on and off for a few years and am certain they were an early sign.
I have had no problems with hydroxychloroquine zentiva...in fact very positive results. The quinoric I was given by pharmacy and had terrible stomach so request zentiva or close to that. Was told that quinoric is made up of different fillers so that could be problem
Hi, I take 200mg Hydroxychloroquine daily. I'm on Zentiva brand just now. But have had Teva & Bristol brands too. Must say Zentiva brand hasn't got the awful tast that the other brands have.
I've never had a rash while taking them but not sure if tummy trouble is caused by them. I have Coeliac and IBD so it could be what's causing tummy trouble with me.
