Bad week

So my brother came to stay in our garden last week , lots of distancing etc and it was lovely that he, after suffering severe mental health problems last year, felt well enough to do the 4 and a half hour drive.

Wd had a beautiful hot day in the garden and bbq . Next morning woke up and he had chest pain, looked like a heart attack ( hes 54 but my dad died of a sudden one at 62 , and 4 if my uncles.)

So I called the paramedics, hubby ran for the local defib until they arrived and he had a huge temperature. So worrying about covid etc !

Anyway long story short it's a septic gall bladder , iv antibiotics for 5 days in hospital and just got out yesterday . He had a good night and drove back to glasgow to get treated more there in a few weeks.

We were booked to come to a farmers fielding the middle of nowhere in our caravan, so again after rushing etc , we are here. Lots of plans for walking but ....I'm flaring ...who would have guessed.....doh!!!

Only just see this E. The best laid plans eh? Really pleased your brother is on the mend but what a to do. Such a worry. Well, hopefully your flare will subside with the peace of the countryside. It looks beautiful, similar to a print bought my h for Christmas, North Pennines. Rest now, hope the weather keeps up so you can walk as far as you're able & breathe that country air. x

What a nightmare for you all and so scarey, no wonder your flaring with all the stress you’ve had.

So pleased your brother recovered and was able to return home.

Oh goodness! Glad your brother is ok now but it’s not surprising you’re having a flare after all that. Hopefully it won’t be too long until you can get your caravan to that farmers field in the middle of nowhere - the middle of nowhere is the perfect place to be at the moment.

I love your photo - where is it?

Poor you...what a worrying time you’ve had of it. Thankfully your brother was with you, not home alone. Fortunately (Thanks to you and hubby) he was treated promptly and is now recovering...and hurrah...you are on a break in stunning peaceful countryside where you can put that horrid time behind you and concentrate on you! Lots of deep fresh air breaths, lots of doing nothing much, lots of quality time with your OH. Wishing you all the best, a very speedy end to that flare and a very happy break. Take care, Sue.

Hope your brothers is ok & recovering well.

I’ve just gone through something similar with my dad he’s 60, it was his heart that was cause for concern but lots of complications & it turned out it was sepsis too from gold bladder.

He ended up having a heart attack, two weeks in hospital & we finally got him home, but still long way to go till he’s back to his normal self.

Hi Allanah

Apols- I'm a bit late to your post, but I'm sorry you've been having such a stressful and worrying time. Your poor brother too - hope he is improving.

Hope your break proves to be just the tonic you need, and that nasty flare subsides.
