Hi bigal

I've had a few of these latest one in the joint at the base of my big toe. The xray or ultrasound scan helps them target the steroid injection right at the heart of the inflammation. Then you have to rest your foot for 24 to encourage the steroid to stay in the foot and not get carried away in the blood stream by movement. Get someone to take you and pick up a wheelchair before going in so you can be wheeled back to your car. I then bed rest only getting up to the toilet.

In the meantime take anti inflams and painkillers, try gentle movement as too much rest can cause pain. Ice pack or dunking your foot in a bowl of very cold water helps inflammation.

Depends what for I've had for Mortons Nuroma once they tried through sole, never again the next 3 from top guided by Ultra sound. No problem there. i just had to rest it for a few hours. But they only lasted for about 3 months so I had the Nuroma;s removed and problem solved.
