Hi everyone been to see my consultant on Friday putting me on to mtx injections and sulfasalazine combination I’m on mtx and hydrox was just wandering if anyone can tell me their experience of this combination thanks all

I had some improvement on MTX/SSZ double therapy but unfortunately side effects meant SSZ was changed to LEF, which equally had to be stopped. I remain on MTX injections as mono therapy (11 years now) at varying doses. Many people do well on SSZ, no reason to suggest you won’t, I hope so anyway. Just give it a good go as in common with other DMARDs it's not quick acting, though improvement may be noticed sooner than the 12 weeks suggested.

I was on mtx injection with sulphasalazine. The mtx injections were better for me because tablets made me nauseous the next day. I was also on hydroxy. Triple therapy. It was fine for a while.
