Been off the meds for a little bit but just starting hydroxychloroquine.
However just before that and currently experiencing a pulling sharp pain in my forearm, along the bottom.
It's one of my two affected joints, the elbow has a fluid build up. Is there any advice to reduce the pain and flare of it aside from the usual paracetamol and ice packs?
Any advice to make it easier whilst hydroxychloroquine works and the paracetamol kicks in would be great. Am able to move the arm mostly, just certain positions the sharp zapping pain goes from the elbow to the wrist.
Best.

Sorry to hear about your pain. It sounds like the nerves in your elbow are caught up in the swelling and the pain is travelling down to your arm. Ice, pain killers and anti inflamms are good but if the elbow is swollen maybe you need more. Did you're rheumatologist talk to you about steroids?
Done steroids a while ago and for the elbow it made little to no difference even in the short term. Might just have to be a painkiller job until the flare sorts itself alo gside the hydroxychloroquine.
