Hi there everyone, update on my elbow(s), well the 8 month target came and went for my left elbow replacement. It was discovered the component could have become loose in the right operated elbow. Had a CT scan and there could possibly be an infection but no antibiotics and can't go back on RA meds either. I have to go for a nuclear medicine scan to see what and where the exact problem is.
Until that is sorted they won't touch the left elbow, could mean the right elbow may need revision surgery, looked at other things that could happen and looks scary.
For now resting my left elbow but need to sort pain relief out, Zomoroh and paracetamol aren't cutting it anymore, just not enough 😢

Hey don't apologise, yes sorry the hospital looks after my RA but pain relief I have to see GP. The elbow is being looked after by a different hospital in another Trust, centre of excellence so all fun at the moment 😀
I use Zapain which are paracetamol and codeine they work really well, once the joint settles down I stop. A lot of people keep taking them and In time they don't work as well.
Ahhh that's a cocodamol brand name I assume, I used to take that but pain prior to 1st elbow replacement had me get something stronger which isn't doing much at the moment xx
I have psa and tendinopathy of elbows. They are constantly sore. Obviously the more I use them the worse the pain is. For now, steroid injections and rubbing with voltarel helps as well as icing them 2 times a day. A compression bandage on the elbow after I've put the voltaren gel seems to help.
I'm due to, start MTX injection 20mgs now but don't believe it will work on tendinopathy.
Hi I was on Rituximab/Truxima which were doing their job but then got Covid Pneumonia 2 years ago which put a stop to that. It was then almost a year trying to get me sorted with a new RA drug, couldn't get a Shingles vacc so Baricitinib was out. Went onto Tocilizumab for 3 months came off for a procedure which went to 3 (2cataracts/bladder botox)and still waiting as RA team won't let me go on meds until elbow replacement done but now with infection wouldn't be allowed anyway. My elbows began with RA, now there is no cartilage and new bone growth so very painful, even using a knife and fork.
It would be good if MTX helped relieve the tendinopathy, like yourself not sure, fingers crossed for you xx
Ahh thankyou, it's from Popsy clothing, got a purple one too, plus many other items of clothing lol. Hopefully the GP gets me, he was really good last time I went through this xx
