Hmmmm I have been on lanzoprazole for several years because of heartburn and gastritis and it’s back... only recent change is the Sulfasalazine. I don’t think I can up the lanzoprazole?? All the over the counter meds are no good for me. 😔

Hi allanah Are you taking lanzoprazole 15mg or 30mg? I’m on 30mg once a day.

Is that 2 x 15mg? 😁

Apparently Ranitidine has been withdrawn. It has an ingredient that may cause cancer, apparently. I could not get my last prescription for it filled and told to contact the GP

Let your medics know, they can then alter the drug or up the dose, if they think that is safer. There are at least two alternatives, that I know of, Omeprazole and Cimetazine.

Cimetazine and all the other ranitidine type products are hard to get because of the recall.

You are getting the enteric coated sulphasalazine aren’t you? Should have ET on the packet.

Hi 👋🏻 they are the enteric ones ... I am eating when I take them as well as drinking a lot of water with them.

Just read that sulf is available as a suppository... surely taking it like that would stop the tummy irritation?

One would have thought so!

I’m going to ask when the rheumy nurse comes back to me. Might as well dodge this before it gets worse. 😁👍🏻

Will do. I believe that omeprazole is just the same?

I had severe acid reflux from sulfasalazine and some vomiting. I stopped it and it cleared right up. Very hard on the gut.

Hi, have you tried drinking a daily bottle of Yakult I find this helps me, I’m not on sulfasalazine anymore due to side effects but I do take lansoprazole and have done for around 6 years because of stomach issues caused by various RA medication.

I don’t but I do eat quite a lot of activia and organic yoghurt. Especially if I am not very hungry or not feeling great.

I find pepto bismol the only thing to work for me. Unfortunately you can only get it from a chemists, which might be a problem at the moment.

Ooops ?? I’ve just read something about not taking them at the same time as the heart burn meds? I’ve been taking mine 30 mins after I take my lansoprazole... lanzoprazole... yoghurt... sulf.
