Please consider supporting NRAS

The NRAS helpline costs £41.44 to run per hour. In this time of uncertainty, the helpline is an essential service for those who need us. However, we require your help. As many of us are no longer driving to work or making other road trips, you could donate your fuel money to ensure NRAS can continue helping those living with RA and JIA.

We urgently need your support.

Please donate if you can: nras.org.uk/coronavirus-eme...

Facebook asks if you want to set up charity donation when it’s your birthday, I did it last year to the NRAS and will do again this year and lots of people donated small amounts which was amazing. It’s a cause close to my heart as I have RA and my mother died from complications with RA a couple of years ago

I can't see how this huge sum is arrived at as in a year it would amount to over £790K for a year so presumably it also includes staff and administration and overheads costs. As a curious person I looked up the Charity Commissioners and your Audit Report. I'd also add that the request is a wee judgemental 'require' is not the polite 'could you ' or 'would you' which is far more appropriate in the circumstances as a lot of people may be in difficult financial circumstances or even now awaiting a decision on PIP or JSA.

My point is that the NRAS as an organisation is asking for extra support yet do not say how many 'phone calls are being answered per hour, or even day or week, and this sum may be also be going to support your own administration which I would be interested to know more about before making any donation.
