I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am taking Sulphasalazine, does this mean I have to shield myself from this virus? I have not received any letter. I work in a GP surgery on reception and come into contact with a lot of patients. Am I at risk?

Shielding from Virus?
I’m not sure with your meds. I had a letter telling me I need to shield and then a week later had a letter telling me it was sent to me in error and I don’t need to shield. So some RA patients aren’t classed as high risk but not sure what meds make you low or high risk
I was told that sulfasalazine scores no points on the risk scale if that helps.
Sulphasalazine is not seen as a risk. If you are under 70 and with no other significant diseases then just take normal precautions. Here’s a scoring chart

Thank you Helix, that was extremely helpful. By my calculations I have 3 points because of Pred, 2 points because of MTX and Leflunomide and 1 point because of my lung disease (Bronchiectasis) . Or have I got that wrong?
Thanks guys for your replies
