Thank you for posting this letter. I’ve not had anything and feeling very anxious (as we all are!) Have you or anyone else had a letter about being extremely high risk and need to be shielded? I keep reading if you’re on immunosuppressants you’re at risk. I’m supposed to go to GP surgery for B12 jab next week and wonder if I should if I’m on shielding list? I’m on methotrexate, sulfasalazine and Naproxen.

Thanks!

You should receive a letter from your GP telling you to stay home for 12 weeks re Methotrexate, I spoke to my GP and he told me I'd receive one soon. Where I am Gps are dealing with medication letters and hospital is dealing with letters re Biologics (Cimzia injections in my case) I have been told by the hospital I will receive a letter from them saying the same. Try leaving a message for your rheumatologist nurse or specialist - I was very lucky mine got back to me within the hour, good luck and take care

I phoned my rhumatoid nurse as I was working as a cleaner in an NHS building and she said she would send a letter to me for work to say I had to self isolate 12weeks. I use methotrexate and Amjevita injection. This took over from Humira.

This is the scoring system which the British a Rheumatology Association are using to identify those who are at highest risk and need shielding. If you score 3 or more you should receive a letter. rheumatology.org.uk/Portals...

Following this you score 1 for methotrexate and 0 for Sulphasalazine. If you are over 70 and/or have any of the other comorbidities you score another 1.

Thank you! Really useful information.

This was my first post ever! So not sure if everyone will see this but thanks to all those who have responded. I hope everyone stays well.

I received a letter yesterday saying I was to stay home for 12 weeks. I’m on prednisone and methotrexate.
