With the current ongoing coronavirus situation, many of you are reaching out for support from NRAS and we are trying to offer as much help as we can.
A friendly chat over the phone with someone who also has RA could make a world of difference, so NRAS has approached our trained peer-to-peer support volunteers for help and we have had an amazing response. We will be briefing these volunteers shortly and they will soon be ready to call anyone who would like a friendly chat.
The calls will check in on how you are doing, lend a listening ear and give you ideas for activities you can do at home to keep well, engage your brain or just try for a bit of fun! Our volunteers are not medically trained and will not be able to answer any medical questions, but they can signpost you to other sources of information, including the weekly NRAS Facebook Live Q&A sessions. Similarly, they are not counsellors, but they can direct you to relevant support helplines if you are feeling isolated or distressed.
If you would like to sign up for a call, simply visit nras.org.uk/here-for-you and complete the self-referral form by clicking 'Request a call' and we will be in touch. Our volunteers are looking forward to talking to you!
