Hi everyone. I am on Methotrexate tablets and Sulfasalazine. Flying to Miami and joining a cruise. Do I need anything to say I am on these meds. ( I plan on taking my repeat prescription as proof). Thanks.

Who were you thinking you might need to tell?

As long as you only take what you need & not a cupboard full I doubt any one would need further proof than your prescription.

For belt & braces make sure you have your doctor’s phone number with you.

Ask your rheumy nurse.... I’m sure she will have been asked that question before.

I would take 3-4 weeks of extra tablets, just in case. I don’t want to put a downer on your hols but if you’re quarantined for a couple of weeks you might need them.

Let’s hope you don’t, (you shouldn’t where you’re going) and I hope that you have a wonderful time. 😎

I have never taken anything other than the prescription renewal sheet with me when on these meds. No ones ever asked to see it though.

I am just back from 4 weeks in Tampa. My Rheumy specialist nurse provided me with a letter for the methotrexate injections, which passport control and immigration did not seem bothered about. I also took my supply of Tramadol and co-codamol which USA can be a bit more interested in. I just took my repeat prescription form which had my GP surgery's address and contact on. Again no problems with immigration. I did however forget to put my celluvisc eye drops in with the plastic bag of liquids (I had put them in with all my other meds), so my hand luggage was searched in the UK and I was made to put the eye drops in the correct place!!!!!

For your methotrexate tablets you should be OK with your repeat prescription form. Have a fab holiday but remember to pace yourself.

Thanks very much for the info:
