Fed up

My ankles and feet have been stiff and had mobility problems for the past 10 days or so. No swelling which is unusual .I don’t usually suffer pain so much. Yesterday from no where my back went as I bent over. ( Knock on effect from ankle and feet no doubt)This morning all my joints are playing up and my back just ain’t playing fair. Have a doctors appointment that I’m not going to make can’t walk never mind drive🙄🙄🥺. To top it all my boss who has been off sick since September is now tinkering with work from home even though she is officially signed off sick has requested all my sick records and I know she will continue her campaign to make me feel uncomfortable about my illness. I wouldn’t mind but a colleague has had more sick days than me and she hasn’t requested her records. I’m well able to fight my corner but could do without it. So I’m about to call in sick as really have no option . Really hate to let my colleagues down.

Feeling sorry for myself 🥺🥺

It's one of those situations where you have to put yourself first and b****r everyone else I'm afraid. And.. I know that's really hard. I'm really sorry you're feeling so rubbish today and hope you can rest and feel better soon. As we keep saying on here, RA - the gift that just keeps on giving. Thinking of you xx

Thank you ... wish RA was more selfish could do with out its giving nature 😁

People in glass houses come to mind when thinking about your boss. If anything she should appreciate how you are being off sick herself. Stupid woman it will come back to bite her. When you go in get your union rep to nip this problem in the bud for you. Take care darling.xxxx

Not in a union 🥺🥺but just printed off nras employers guide to RA and highlighting the most important parts as well as the legal responsibility that cannot discriminate when illness is due to RA . Don’t know if it will work🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ I know when I get my meds right I will be able to work . ( I work far harder when I’m there than most but it’s never recognised). I have only had only 5 days off for flares since September but I have had 5 days off for anaphylaxis due to reactions to medication and 4 days off due to norovirius they use the Bradford scoring system which means I’ll get a warning. Thanks Sylvi how’s your back?

It has eased of thank goodness, but as you well know when one pain goes another one replaces it.xxxx

Sylvi, are you trying to say that you don't agree with J1707's boss? If so you need to state it more clearly! lol :-)

If it were me, I'd ask strongly for an X-Ray on my back. A few years ago I couldn't get out of bed. X-Ray on my spine revealed 4 Vertebral fractures so I couldn't walk either. People don't realise Osteoporosis is a risk with RA.

I wonder how she would feel if the shoe was in the other foot, typical boss although some are compassionate but we’re only a number at the end off the day, you come first xxx

It's hard dealing with the pain, I know I suffered so much in my life but you have to keep strong and please try and get to the Doctor who might be able to get some other treatment.

Keep your chin up

So sorry to hear you are in pain and suffering J1707. The last thing you need is your employer sticking in the oar so to speak and to feel under some kind of scrutiny when as you say others seem to get away with their sickness. A lesson I sadly have learned all too late is never forget you are number one and despite wanting to work hard, be loyal and caring about other colleagues etc. you and your health matter just as much as anyone else. Some good advice has already been given, but if you can join a union or know of a organisation that can support you, it is always best to be armed with information should it be needed. Which I hope it isn't and you are able to get your health back onto some kind of track. I hope you are able to get some answers from your GP, if you can't get there could they do a home visit? (I know here they are like hens teeth to get, but just a thought) Take care and hope things will improve for you. Don't forget you are number one. Sending my best wishes

J1707, just sending you some love as sounds like you need it today. As everyone else said listen to your body, please don't beat yourself up about being off. Let her send away for medical reports hopefully it'll show what you've been through and how strong you have been. Do you have occupational health via work? Maybe having chat with them might help confidently. Really hope you feel better soon x

Ahh man that is a crap response from your boss. I bet you have been muttering like a nutter today! I am due a session with my boss tomorrow and I know its going to be rough BUT speaking to HR Wed re reducing my days to 3 full time instead of 5 and having some time out again.

Look after yourself and get yourself sorted rather than worrying too much about work x
