Fed Up

I am so sick of this pain and constant tierdness. Today my knee hurts and my hands are swollen and sore. Having to wear my splints for the first time in ages. Spoke to rhuemmy nurse today and asked if I need to recommence my Humira ( stopped in October) she said no. have found out that my Vit D level is low. She said I might feel better once that is sorted. i can't feel any worse. At work they are changing our hours so the options are

6 hour shifts which if like me you are full time means working 6 days a week or 111/2 hr shifts or a combination of the two. Thats going to do wonders for me tierdness. Am going to see OH to see what they suggest. The Consultant in there is brill. He has helped me out before. Soryy to rant and rave. Have to go now as the kittens are causing havoc and I have to be up at 05.30

Kath I am really in awe of you that you continue to work long shifts in such a physical job. I work but i am sitting most of the time. hope the kittens are behaving themselves.

Hey your blog title echoes my state of mind entirely. You are amazing to work on your feet and long shifts if you are feeling this way. The situation re jobs for everyone, including my OH, is so dire and tense just now isn't it?

So fed up here too - knees both gone really red, swollen and sore for first time in ages and one ankle is really hurting on the ankle bone - hot red patch and both hands are stiff, knuckles all red and raised and it's just poo.

To make matters harder both my hubby's parents are on the brink of collapse - in their mid 80s and one or other in hospital on death's door in rotation. So he doesn't know whether to hot foot it to Devon - even though there's no room for him to stay and he'd have to take it as holiday and it's over 1000 miles away.

But on the plus side all I have to do this weekend is hoover the house which is a pit - and start working on owl for tattoo for my eldest son who has just turned up from Edinburgh (just 6 hours drive plus an hour and a half boat journey away) unexpectedly for his friend's 18th tomorrow night - and is dying to see his owl picture for his tattoo - which I haven't even started working on yet.. hands pretty but can't explain this to him somehow..

And we've been asked out tomorrow night to a supper with people who only ever talk about business and money - neither of which we have any thing to say about - and I can't drink in order to numb myself to this kind of conversation (probably all as well). But it's good to have someone to moan back to even though it doesn't help you one iota - sorry Kath but big gentle hug from one with splints and swollen fingers and red hot knees and ankle to another ((()))) TTx

All the way to Devon, my 101 year old father is in Wiltshire and just living from day to day really. He and his friend ( both ex primary school head teachers) are getting through the whisky we got him for Christmas like anyone's business and demanding more next time we go down.

I hope you can avoid emergency dashes to Devon and that the dinner isn't too bad.

And kath, I hope you can sort out your working hours and conditions it's so important to have understanding isn't it

Xx

Aw Gina, I'm so sorry your family is really giving you "separation anxiety"! It's heck, and you are right to think of getting a dog if you want to be needed! On the other hand, If you want to smother another creature with comfort and love and get that back with very little demands on your every waking minute..get a cat! A nice, pretty, fluffy warm and cuddley, kitty, or full grown cat. Neutered.

You don't have to take a cat out and walk her several times a day, no matter what the weather! And, you can go out anytime, for as long as you like, and she'll be right there waiting for you, and won't tear the house apart while you're gone. Also, you can go away for a couple days and just leave plenty of food and water and she'll be fine. Maintaining a dog, especially a young one, is too hard on our bones! L. xxx

Thanks for your support. Got up this morning rt hand swollen sore and cold rang in sick and am taking tommorow off as well. tried painkillers hot packs the lot and nothing seems to work can't make a fist so would be no use catching a baby. Work won't be happy but what can I do. I am going to ring thr rhuemmy nurse on monday and explain about this weekend and still see about the Humira as I cant keep taking time off. When i was on it I did feel tierd but am sure I didn't have this much pain. I know there are people a lot worse than me but when you feel lousy you just need to winge.
