Bet you're really chuffed with yourself.😊😁

My Husband is my Carer and does everything for me. I'll tell him to get some Special K .But he's not been too good healthwise lately.

I'm gonna have to get a cleaner in, even though he says he can manage. He can't really .You Take Care. 😊

Funny it seems to be a boxing day 'thing' as I've just had a bit of go at my kitchen cupboards and drawers 😂 didn't do too much though as I slipped over on Christmas Eve walking my dog, fell flat on my face on wet grass (luckily it was grass) aching all over since 🥴

JFlay not just me who slips and falls then. Seem to face plant a lot this year. X

Hi Deeb. I know exactly how you feel. I’m having the most awful R/A flare up in my back & feet & eyes. Been really bad the last 2 months). Can hardly walk. Was in agony on Christmas Day. My boyfriend isn’t into Christmas. So I said i wanted to be alone. (We don’t live together). (I live with a lovely little hamster called Ian!!) So it was just me & him Christmas Day. But i was so happy to not have to put on a front for anyone). I was in so much pain. But i just lay in bed with my tablet (& tablets!) ate some lovely chocolates my brother had sent me with some beautiful flowers & champagne. (Saving the champers for New Year). I was so happy to not HAVE to be happy. I was happy feeling miserable on my own. I had wanted to clean the flat thoroughly for Christmas. But the pain has been so crippling. I couldn’t. When i have really pushed myself. (After painkillers & anti inflammatories & i’ve managed to do the washing up or change the bed, or done the hoovering, i have felt elated. Like i’ve climbed a mountain, or done a marathon. This disease is not only painful. It’s exhausting. I made myself cook a roast for Christmas Day & i felt so proud that i’d been able to do it. I had to keep sitting down & take breaks. But it didn’t matter. It was just me. So i felt such relief i didn’t have any pressure put on me. (It was very nice. I know Ian liked it!) i was exhausted after. So i just had a nap in bed.

I’ve just started a new treatment. I’ve just had my 2nd injection. (Humira). It can take up yo 3 months to get into the system. But if it can help with my current flare up. I can wait. (In the meantime those naughty chocolates, a lovely hot cup of tea & lots of comedies on my tablet, while i’m lying in bed with my heat pad will help comfort me). Healthy people take it for granted. Being able to get up & make your own cup of tea. It’s such a relief to be able to get up out of bed! I agree with you Deeb. The simple things in life are the best.

Hi J1707.

I know. I prefer my ‘medication’. There’s nothing like a bit of choc cake, a lovely hot cup of tea/coffee & a really good comedy. I’m so grateful to whoever invented the tablet. You can just lie back in bed. (You must plump up your pillows. (Sounds rude!!) arrange your duvet. Then just lean back & let the comedy do it’s job. But i’ve been in so much pain recently. Even laughing hurts. So sometimes i love a good bit of drama. I like to put on a bit of Idris Elba. (He’s a beautiful sight for sore eyes. (Especially after my eye drops!!) what’s your guilty pleasure when you’re in pain?

in reply to Vixen2

Sound so sad but I love my own company my dog snuggled up next to me maybe a good book if the fatigue allows and a Good Gin .. Ahhh the simple pleasures 😁

i understand wanting to be alone. When i’m not well, i can’t be ‘nice’. I just need to moan to myself. Or my lovely little hamster Ian. He comes out of his little house & looks up at me. Then i give him a treat. He really cheers me up. I wish he’d snuggle up to me! He’s not at all affectionate. I love dogs. I’ve got a housing association flat. They don’t allow us to keep dogs. A pet really helps if you live alone. By the way. I like the gin bit aswell

in reply to Vixen2

Vixen2 if you read your comment and did not have RD you would probably say ' this is so sad' but what I read was I had a lovely day with Ian and a roast and doing things on your terms without having to appear happy or not tired all the time!

It sounds like a win win on all fronts!

When I had a hamster as a kid he was called Fred!
