I've fairly recently been diagnosed with RA and I've been on Methotrexate and Hydroxychloriquine for 3 months. I'm also tapering off Prednisolone, having been on that for about 6 months. The problem I've had for a couple of months is pain in my buttocks (one then the other) which has now gone but was followed by pain in the upper part of one leg and in the groin. Has anyone else experienced this?

Why I am getting pain in my upper leg and groin?
Hello Vivienham , groin and hip pain can be part of RA. Often pain tends to move about from joint to joint or place to place, all a bit of a pest really. But hopefully MTX and HDQ will sort things out for you. If your issues don't subside, or get worse as you taper off prednisolone it would probably be best to contact your rheumatology dept.
I've groin pain for many years. At the beginning it was very severe, but with an exercise programme from the hospital physio I got on top of it and still am as long as I do the exercises regularly. Maybe refer yourself to a hospital physio and see what they say? There's nothing to loose. Good luck.
That sounds as if you have some problems with nerve root pinching in the spine? You might find that a physical therapist such as a physio or osteopath would be able to help.
I can only tell you of my symptoms of pain in the groin turned out to be coming from my hips but do see your doctor as there can be many causes hope you get some relief soon.x
Sounds like Sciatica to me. I get it all the time.
I'm not sure that I'm replying in the right place but I wanted to thank all those who replied to my query. I'm seeing the consultant in a week or so and I will certainly consider having physio if the pain continues.
