Elbow replacement

Hi, I need elbow replacement and feeling petrified to even make the decision. As anyone had the elbow done and where the result worth it?

Hi, I’ve had both my elbows replaced 6 years and 4 years ago. Was the best thing for me to do as totally pain free now.

I can’t get both arms completely straight but I have very good movement after lots of physio afterwards.

Hi,thanks for the reply. Pain free sounds good, that would be my main aim😁 Doubt mine would regain full movement the damage is too severe x

Had my elbow replaced after a fall.My arm didn't heal due to RA.that was 4_years ago.I am happy with replacement.I do have weight restrictions. I can not lift push or pull anything over 7#pound.

Hi,thanks for the reply. 7lb sounds more realistic. The surgeon said a 1lb to me which is nothing. What was the recovery like? And how long before you could do anything with it? X

The recovery went very well.No physical therapy.Only some motion exercises.It was about a 6week recovery.It's been 4years and I have no problems with it.I am very careful with the weight limit.I wish you happy healing.Go for it!!
