NRAS Group Meetings— Week Commencing 15th July 2019

Swansea NRAS Group

Meetings are held at Sketty Parish Centre, De La Beche Road, Sketty, Swansea, SA2 9AR once every other month on a Monday from 7:30-9:00pm.

15th July - 'QR Codes and Updates to Rheumatology Services' to be presented by guest speakers Kim Beddow, Senior Service Manager and Ceri llsley, Sister Rheumatology Infusion Unit NPT.

Hertfordshire NRAS Group

Quarterly meetings are held at Welwyn Civic Centre, Prospect Place, Welwyn AL6 9ER on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

16th July - 'Inflammation and Nutrition: how your food could help your RA' to be presented by Miriam Ferrer, PhD, Head of New Product Development at FutureYou

3 Counties NRAS Group (Surry/Hants/Berks)

This group meets at St. Francis Church Hall, 121 Upper Chobham Road, Frimley, Surrey, GU15 1EE bi-monthly on a Tuesday from 7:00pm-9:00pm.

16th July - Dr Mark Lloyd, Consultant Rheumatologist – Fibromyalgia

Oldham NRAS Group

The Oldham NRAS Group hold meetings at: Neon Hub, Holt Street, off Huddersfield Road, Greenacres, Oldham OL4 2DQ from 7:00pm - 8:30pm.

16th July - Guest speaker: Dr Rob Ley, Consultant Rheumatologist will present: 'New treatments and the effects of RA on the organs/body'

Torbay NRAS Group

This group hold their meetings in the ground floor meeting room at Barton Baptist Church, Happaway Road, Barton, Torquay, TQ2 8HJ once every other month on a Tuesday from 7:00-9:00pm.

16th July - ’You, RA and your community pharmacist.’ Lisa Dowrick, Pharmacist will be talking to us about using over the counter medications and remedies in conjunction with prescribed RA medication and explaining the services on offer from a pharmacy.

Heart of England NRAS Group (Solihull)

This NRAS group meets on a Wednesday once a month at Solihull Women’s Institute, 745 Warwick Road, Solihull, B91 3DG from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

17th July - We welcome Julie Larkin a physiotherapist from Solihull who will be talking about her role as a physiotherapist in promoting an understanding of the condition for patients and self management of the condition through exercise and joint protection.

East Dorset NRAS Group

The East Dorset group meet socially for coffee from 11am at Stewarts Garden Centre, Lyndhurst Road, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 4SA and also Haskins Garden Centre, Longham, Ferndown, Dorset BH22 9DG. Next coffee morning: Thursday 18th July at Haskins Garden Centre.

North East NRAS Group (Newcastle)

Meetings are held in Function Room 138, Education Centre, Level 1, Freeman Hospital, High Heaton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE7 7DN from 5.30pm-8.00pm.

18th July - Guest speaker 1: Dr. Kate Hackett, Assoc. Professor, Occupational Therapy, Northumbria University will present: 'Managing Fatigue in Rheumatic Disease' and guest speaker 2: Gemma O’Callaghan, Occupational Therapist, Freeman Hospital will present: 'Practical Life Hacks to support Symptom Self-Management'

North Lincolnshire NRAS Group (Grimsby)

This group will hold their meetings in the large meeting room at Cromwell Road Fire Station, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN31 2BN once every other month on a Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm.

18th July - Social meet up with a film quiz and raffle. All welcome.

Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group

The Stoke-on-Trent NRAS Group hold meetings in the outpatients waiting area by the WVS cafe at Haywood Hospital, High Lane, Burslem, ST6 7AG on the third Thursday of every other month from 7:00-8:30pm.

18th July - Catherine Jaroszek will talk about the benefits of Tai Chi for RA

St Helens NRAS Group

The St Helens NRAS Group meet once every other month on a Thursday evening in The Gallery at The United Reformed Church, King Street, St. Helens, WA10 2JZ from 6.30pm to 8pm.

18th July - 'Virtual Clinics in Rheumatology' by Charlotte Howden, Clinical Nurse Specialist

West Wales NRAS Group (Pembrokeshire)

Meetings held at the Renal Unit Seminar Room at Withybush General Hospital, Fishguard Rd, Haverfordwest SA61 2PZ once every other month on a Thursday from 6:30pm.

18th July - Social and catch up meeting. All welcome.

Yeovil NRAS Group

The Yeovil NRAS Group hold coffee mornings at Palmers Garden Centre Coffee Shop, Bernards Way, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, BA20 2FH from 10:30am-12:00pm.

18th July - at this coffee morning the group will be joined by Kirsty Malik, Joint Pain Lead for Nuffield Health in Yeovil and she will be sharing information about the Joint Pain programme she runs locally.

You, your family, friends and healthcare professionals are all very welcome to attend and you don’t have to be a member of NRAS to attend a group meeting!
