I have had a painful elbow for several months which I can’t straighten as well as swelling and at my last rheumatology Review it was completely dismissed.
Last week I called the nurse line and was told I would get a call back. I’m still waiting a week later. The rheumatologist I’m under goes by blood results not how I’m feeling. I know this is general as a friend is under the same consultant and they have said the same.
Do I call the nurse line again I know they are under a lot of pressure due to financial restraints.
The pain is keeping me awake and I’m very tired and it’s stopping me from going out.
I have been to see my GP following my last appointment and I had an X-ray and mechanically my elbow is ok. He said there is definitely swelling there and has referred me to a MSK for a MRI as he feels there is something stopping the arm from straightening. He did offer a steroid injection but as the last one I had a year ago didn’t work I declined. Hence referral. It’s been six weeks since the referral and I’m very low psychologically as it’s preventing me from doing every day.
Should I try the rheumatology department or leave it and wait for MSK as I think the rheumatologist will not do very much
By the way this arm is the only arm they can get blood from so extremely painful!
