Cervical spondylosis

Now the weather is warming up i have noticed the pain has increased in neck and shoulder, gabapentin doesn't seem to be keeping it in check which it certainly did. Has anyone else noticed this or is it my imagination.

Hiya Graeme. Tension seems to be the main thing to make my cervical spondylosis flare, though it's not accompanied by a headache unlike the cervicogenic headaches I was prone to. I can't say I've had an increase in pain through warm weather though a rise in humidity plays havoc with my joints. I'm prescribed pregabalin rather than gabapentin plus amitriptyline for CS. I tried gabapentin first but what was thought to be a therapeutic dose wasn't so had a break & then started the pregabalin which I'm still taking with good results.

I'd mention it next time you're seen by your Rheumy, unless your GP deals with such problems as mine does.

Was started on pregabalin but couldn't get on with it may have been partly to all the heart medication i take. Moved to gabapentin but i only take at night which helps me sleep. Thanks for your reply.
