I injected my first two doses of cimzia yesterday morning. By the evening the sites where slightly swollen, but now the swelling has more than doubled in size. It's not painful and not itchy but I'm not sure what to do as it's a Sunday so cant get gold of my rheumi. I took some antihistamines yesterday but it's still getting worse

I find I get on better if I use my abdomen. I don't have much fat on my thighs and the Cimzia ends up in muscle rather than subcutaneous.

When I use the abdomen I get a little blanching round the injection site for a few days. I rotate the injections round 4 sites round my belly button so that is 8 weeks before I get back to the same area.

Make sure that the syringes are out of the fridge for at least 30 mins.

I got something similiar with the 2 injections of benepali. I now take it out of the fridge in the morning to use in the evening and have had no problem.

I did take it out the fridge an hour before. Going to try and get in touch with my nurses

I contacted supply pharmacist and they said to put a cold pack on sight it went after a couple of days

When I did my double doses I did one in each thigh (as shown by my nurse) and had only a slight reaction in the areas, never did both in the same area, this is maybe why the reaction is bad. 🤗X

I did one in each thigh, just couldn't get both photos to upload! X

Sorry, the photo looks like two injections in one site. 🤗X

My both injection sites look the same, I did mine yesterday. I'm going to give it a few days. It seems to happen to many. I didn't have this reaction when I did them in my legs. I might also take it out of the fridge longer.

I am also having this occur on my stomach injection site from 36 hours ago. Does this go away? My doctor told me he'd have to do a biopsy to say anything so if anyone else had ideas on what word I'd love to know
