Not been the best day..... have been awaiting my chest x-ray results. GP believes I have inflammation of my sinuses and prescribed nasal steroids. He also sent me for an X-ray to be precautious as was recently treated for latent TB. Phoned for results and radiographers report said he wants GP to discuss with me and suggested periodic review needed. GP call due next Tuesday ( would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little concerned). Earlier in week bloods for liver read “ satisfactory “ and have always been normal. Then blow me, tonight, fell over the dog ( same colour as my kitchen flooring) and fell hard ( mainly on left arm)..... stone floor! Feeling bit sorry for myself and somewhat sore.... glass of wine ( and few Ibuprofen) sat on sofa watching Masterchef finals.... trying to keep my pecker up!!!!
Good reason not to choose a dog the same colour as yo... - NRAS
Good reason not to choose a dog the same colour as your flooring!
Blimey another one with latent TB I am just going into my last month of antibiotics and I won't be sorry to see the back of them as they have made me go to the toilet very quickly indeed and sometimes not making (get the drift darling) If there was anything life threatening darling you wouldn't be kept waiting. There just might a tad difference to whats been going on with you. The drs would have rung you if there was anything serious.Hugs.xxxx
Oh no! I hope you are feeling a bit better today! Is the dog ok? More importantly try not to worry too much about your x-ray, if it is TB then it is treatable. The radiographer’s report said ‘periodic review’ no immediate review which I would take as a better sign. 💐
Slept fine and not “ black and blue” on my arm... which I expected as I bruise so easily! So that’s all good. Arthur ( dog... Lab) was really concerned when I landed flat on the floor which was very sweet. We had cuddles on the sofa last night.... he had no trouble snoring on my lap! At least I will find out Tuesday what the X-ray showed so not long to wait! Just seems one trouble after the other. Anyway, we plod on. Good weekend to all.
Hi, I have chronic rhinitis & use a steroid nasal spray. Before it was diagnosed my sinuses would become infected & would cause a flare, lovely 😩 double yammy!
The nasal spray has really helped & if I forget to use it then the symptoms return 🤦♀️
Love the name Arthur for a dog.
If it doesn’t settle ask your doc if you can try drops instead of the spray...my ENT consultant swear drops are better than sprays...don’t’ know why, but it worked for me.
I’ve been using it now for about a year but just these I’ve been getting nose bleeds, not bad ones. So maybe I could try the drops. I’m reluctant to tell the doc incase he stops it & it works so well.
I was given the same contents....just in a droppper bottle .I wondered (very unscientific) if it was more gentle than the squirt of a Spray?
Could be so thank you for that. It’s on my to do list to phone my gp, so I’ll ask.
Have you just been seeing your GP? If you have and this has been going on for a year I would ask for an ENT referral.
You might have to wait a while as ENT is as busy as
Rheumatology and just as tricky, but it will probably be worth the wait.
My GP had never heard of the drops my ENT surgeon prescribed!
Do you get a sore throat from it as well? My throat used to be raw from the post nasal drip...horrid...but after using the drops it cleared up,& I now know what to ask for if it recurs.
Goood Luck.
Hi, yes I’ve seen an ent specialist, they gave me a routine allergy test which was negative & then discharged me great 😡.
My rheumy didn’t seem interested so it’s down to my gp. I use the spray daily.
Yes I do get a sore throat.
I had constant rhinitis for years ...in between times I had surgery for what they called benign allergic tumours-polyps-and eventually when laser surgery came in they got all the polyps out & my rhinitis disappeared.
But if you have seen an ENT Consultant & nothing alarming was found I really don’t know what else to say ...except maybe try the drops instead of a spray? Not that this might apply to you, but my ent consultant said he thought sprays kept the area “spongey” & liable to irritation, but drops let the area “breathe a bit”.....don’t know if that is fact, or just his fancy..but after a year it might be worth investigating?
Did your ENT consultant put a camera up your nose to examine your sinus cavities for polyps!
I’m presuming you have tried anti histamines?
I was a great hayfever sufferer,& to this day I can sneeze for England for no apparent reason...drippy nose, sore throat....., but now all over in a few days...with a few Loratidine anti histamines.
I was quite surprised when I transferred to my present rheumatologist, one of the first questions he asked ..was did I have hay fever as I child?
There’s nowt so strange as immune reactions is there?
Ouch. Yes, tough to see them if they match.
Oh how horrible for you. I blooming hate being in limbo, just waiting for news. Fingers crossed all will turn out ok for you. As they don't seem to be rushing I can only think that's a good sign. Yes, it's all to easy to fall over dogs isn't it?. I did the same on Wednesday. Beige carpet + small beige dog = me prone on the floor cussing gently. Suki looked at me quizzically and I thought I heard small doggy giggles.
Have you painted the dog a different colour yet???
If they don't call you back right away its usually a very good sign. What I hate is that I have to drive an hour and a 1/2 each way to go see my Dr.
