So many questions!

I keep questioning my RA diagnosis not because I don’t believe it, I just believe there’s more because my muscles are involved and instincts seem to be telling me there’s more. My bloodwork was not 100% conclusive for RA but the treatment has helped. Today, my upper arms seem so heavy and achy and I searched Google for anything relative. I read an article I wanted to share. I’d welcome any thoughts. Thank you!

I had a ccp test different from crp. This was done private as I sought definitive a answer. It told me a definite no or yes to RA. Unfortunately, I was a yes. That's what my consulted told me.

Interesting article 😌

I get twitchy muscles and cramps, I also have Hypothyroidism and Pernicious Anaemia. Might be worth asking to be tested if you haven't been already

I have hypothyroidism and am monitored every six months with bloodwork.

I would say get a thyroid function blood test. Even just to eliminate issues. Hypothyroid issues and RA/RD are closely related.

I too have muscle aches and pains as well as joint pain. Was diagnosed 7 years ago and as far as I know it is just R a but now I might look into it more. Just makes you wonder doesn't it?

It sure does. Maybe someday they’ll find an answer.

No doubt whatsoever that I have full blown RA, and I'm 99% sure that's what causes pain along the entire length of both of my arms, especially from elbows to shoulders. They are so bad on times that I can't even raise them to the horizontal, which is the case at this minute! :-(

That’s exactly how my arms have been since my post. A friend said last night that I should go for a little walk everyday and keep increasing it til I feel better. I wish there were someway to get the general public, friends and relatives, to understand that RA is NOT arthritis.

I just changed rheumys and she diagnosed me with fibromyalgia on top of the RA. This was without me complaining about the muscle pain, skin pain, etc., because my last one blew me off when I did. I’m so very thankful that one closed her practice!

Yes I got diagnosed with Fibro alongside RA too, as the drugs started to help the RA the fibromyalgia became more apparent so double whammy! M x

I too have RA with secondary Fibro. I have the muscle pains bad. My consultant randomaly poked different points making me leap off my seat. I am on gabapentin for primarily the Fibro but can honestly say I have muscles that feel like I’ve expercised hard with no warm up and every part of me feels bruised. Currently in a flare too so hands are looking like a blown up examination glove. I was shocked to get the Fibro diagnosis too and somewhat ashamed of it because it’s labled as a fob off diagnosis. Ask for another consultant maybe on your next visit. They will all work differently.
