swelling and a lump

hi everyone I'm new here and hope someone can answer my question. i was diagnosed with RA just at the end of last year. I get swelling in my hands, feet etc. I also was wondering is it typical to get swelling in your arm? my arm has been swelling up and I've got a lump in the crease of my left arm and getting shooting pains in my forearm that goes into the palm of the hand and fingers and sometimes travels up to my shoulder. I'm not sure what to expect with RA and any time I'm unwell or have new swelling I just put it down to RA. thanks in advance for any replies xxx

What you describe doesn't sound like anything I would recognise as to do with Rheumatoid Disease. Seek medical advice.

thank you oldtimer. I'll go to docs tomorrow get them to have a look. the swelling isn't there all the time it just happens now n again but at least a couple of times a week and the lump I can feel all the time.

Time to see your GP I reckon. Get photos, if possible and keep a diary to see if it's linked to a particular activity is what I'd be doing.

This sounds like could be Palendronmic rheumatism.I have both RD and PR.But I agree you need to consult your Dr.

Always have your doctor check out a lump. Let them tell you what it is. Don’t guess.

Hi teddy,

sorry to hear of the horror show, hope the situation gets resolved soon.

I have had the kind of things you've described. It was down to the R.A and the lump was down to my Sarcoidosis but I suggest you go see your GP or Rheumy asap. Wish you well
