I am looking forward to joining you all to share experiences on medication etc for RA.
RA is a bugbear.: I am looking forward to joining you... - NRAS
RA is a bugbear.
Hello and welcome Tyharljo, we are looking forward to you joining in. How long since you were diagnosed? 😊
Hi Kitty. Thanks for your reply. I have been diagnosed with RA for about 6 yrs. I also have osteoarthritis. I have 5 replacement joints due to osteo. 2 hip joints done the same year in 1985. 2 shoulder joints done in 2016/2017 and right knee joint done 2018. I am looking forward to joining in with you all as it is nice to communicate with people who are suffering and know how difficult life is 🤗
That’s a few replacements 😊 You will have lots of experience to impart to us all. I hope they made a big difference to you. I’ve had none (yet) and was diagnosed nearly 30 years ago now.
Welcome Tyharljo. Would love to know more about you.
Hi Thankyou for your welcome. If you look at my reply to kittyj it explains quite a bit about myself. I have been diagnosed with RA for about 6 yrs but have had osteo since my 30's,I am now 70. I have had quite a few different medications over the time but have had nothing yet that really helps. I am currently on 5mg prednisalone, 200mg hydroxychloroquine and trying new one 20mg leflunomide also adcal d3. Hope you are not suffering too much 🤗
Hi Tyharljo, I was diagnosed with RA in 1987. Now also have Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis and Vasculitis etc. Currently taking Methotrexate, Leflunomide, Prednisolone. Adcal D3 with annual infusions of Zolendate. Also use Matrifen Patches and Oramorph for pain in spine and ribs where I've had Osteoporotic Fractures.
You sound very upbeat in spite of all your replacements! My left hip is nearing replacement and I dread it.
Its not too bad really, replacement surgery has improved out of sight in recent years. Sure beats the hip pain. 👍
Hello Kalimera57. Try not to worry about your hip replacement too much as things have changed dramatically since I had mine done 24 yrs. ago. Both my daughters had both of theirs done in their 30's and they are titanium. You should really feel the benefit after losing the dreadful everyday pain. Good luck with your operation. Try to keep active as much as possible afterwards, as I feel this helped me a lot 🤗
