Can you help
Sorry, I don't know of a med called moxiclam, could you double check the spelling Angela? I used to take one called meloxicam but that's an NSAID not a slow release pain reliever.
Yes my mistake it is meloxicam and I was told it's a one a day as it's slow release through the body that's why I'm not sure if I can mix with co codamol
Ah, good, thanks. Sorry I had to ask but as you'll know it's important to be sure as there are similar sounding meds. I took sustained release meloxicam (NSAID, not pain reliever) with co-codamol but please do ask either your GP or your Pharmacist or another medical professional just to be sure you're ok to. Have they been prescribed together for the first time or have you been on co-co's some time? If they were prescribed together for the first time then I would think you're ok but always best to ask a med prof to be sure. You're taking a ppi (stomach protector) aren't you, omeprazole, lansoprazole or similar?
Do you mean meloxicam? Meloxicam is an Nsaid. Co codomol is paracetamol and codiene. So different class of drugs.
If it were me I wouldn't take them at the same time. I'd take spaced well apart. It's better from a pain relief point of view, and probably easier on the liver.
Don't take meloxicam on an empty stomach.
Thank you I was on naproxen but it stoped working so went on this it helps but I got told it was a slow release and stays in body alday so as much as it good I've still had pain and suffered it as wasn't sure to take the co codamol
Ask the pharmacist where you collect your prescription.......he/she will be able to look at any other meds you take and will advise you accordingly,
