I've been in a flare now since Xmas after going on a cruise I came home immediately was struck down with the flu and then an infection in both ears so I couldn't take my benepali for 2 weeks, I've started taking them for 2 weeks but the flare hasn't ended. I'm getting a bit of relief for a 5 hrs after I take my steroids but then is a downward spiral till I can bearly move and my joints are swollen again. It's like the benepali isn't working . I know i need to call the advice line but they will only offer me a steroid injection. I'm really reluctant to that as I swear my face blew up like a balloon the last time. Is there anything I can do to help my self through this flare?.
You forget just how bad the pain really can be when you've been on the injections for a while...... wahahahahaha..... I'm just having a moan it's all a soooo hard!!!

Im sorry to read how you are. Yes you do forget how bad it was. We are all so different. I have read on here that some people flare for few days and others much much longer. Rest, fluid removal and joint injections were the only thing that worked for me and it took two rounds of injections 3 weeks apart. Im still so very tired though and this flare just seems to be coming to an end after about 10 to 12 weeks. Im not there yet but improving. I would still ring and ask for options, you dont have to take them. You have a good moan, here people 'get it'. Take care and I really hope things improve very soon.

I’m the same came back from holiday and had the cold virus and wife’s still in bed with flu virus, I also had a chest infection before I went away which took 3 rounds off antibiotics and I’m still shattered plus running after my other half doesn’t help but it’s usually the other way round so I’m not complaining, I would get in touch with your health team to see if there’s anything they can do xxx
