So I got a very nasty chest infection on Boxing Day, was put on hardcore antibiotics and was advised to stop taking my MTX to allow my body to fight the infection without my immune system being too suppressed. I then got a cold virus on top and have been awfully ill for nearly three weeks.
I started to worry about going back into flare because my body hadn’t had my MTX jab in 3 weeks. Well it’s interesting because I had no aches and pains until yesterday. Then I woke up with swollen wrists and aching fingers and until I kept rubbing them, I forgot what that awful flare pain was like.
So I took my MTX jab this morning even though I still have a cold and cough. I can’t risk going back into flare. It’s a real dilemma because I also might be stuck with this awful cold for a few more weeks.

Oh flip! Just what you didn't want for Christmas. There are an awful lot of vicious viruses and infections at the moment and I'd have done what you did. My son and his whole family are still suffering after nearly three weeks and they are normal (allegedly). He says the little girls are still snot goblins
Can’t really offer any advice, but hope you feel better soon on all fronts.
Similar here, haven’t had benepali for 3 weeks but am taking it tomorrow as I am starting to flare. Sometimes you just have to do whichever causes the least problems for you. Hope you start to feel better soon.
Yes it’s all a balance I feel. I too have a nasty cold atm and don’t intend to take my mtx this week. I’m hoping to be feeling better the week after as I know if I miss another dose I’ll really notice.
just monitor that infection carefully or better still get them to.... i thought i had a nasal drip cough but much worse [on MTX at that time] take care [see my older posts for detail] xx
